The Last Post

March 14, 2011

In a  short while there will be a new department. As a result of the ‘comms review ‘ I will be the web manager for CCBS, albeit I will be moving to Chief Execs. There will be a new improved and larger webteam. Our services to you will remain the same if not better.

The first webteam blog was posted in May 2008, followed by a further 205 counting this one. I have written some 50,000 words equivalent to around a third/half an average paperback novel. Posts have been read 54,442 times. On 408 occasions you have added comments.

But all good things must come to an end, and now seems an appropriate time for the webteam blog to end.

Internal comms is high on the agenda for CCBS, to find better and more effective ways of reaching and engaging with staff. I will let our new managers and comms experts decide whether a blog like mine has a role in the new department.

Bye for now and thanks for reading.

    Bye bye,

Thanks for all the posts. Guess we’re all too busy to comment these days, what with all the… well, you know.

    Good luck!

I’m sure I have read all 205, commented only a couple of times, but found them all thought provoking, stimulating, informative, and controversial at times – I’ll miss the blog. I wish you well in your new role and I hope you find a new avenue to rail against the world and its foibles!

Thanks for all your posts. Frequently you’ve told me something I didn’t know – and on more than one occasion, it was useful!

    I’ll miss you!!

Thank you for all of the thought-provoking posts – yours is the only blog I follow, because its informative, elightening and amusing by turn. Like Tricia, I may not often comment but I really do appreciate it! Whether or not it continues (I hope it can), thank you!

Like Tricia, I have never sent a comment but I have always read. I have sometimes agreed, sometimes disagreed but always enjoyed. If you return, you’ll be welcomed back!

I will be sorry to see the blog go – like others I don’t comment much but read it regularly, one of the few things I eagerly seek out to find out what’s going on. If I had a say I would be voting for it to stay!
All the best for the new role.

That’s really sad news. I’m very selective about what I read (being a very slow reader) but I found myself drawn to your blog because it was always informative and often used to wind me up. Like Kirsty, I’d vote to keep it!

I’ve always read your blog, to be challenged and informed, and have caught up with past ones when I’ve been away, but have only commented a couple of times. We need some sort of outlet/forum, and I do hope that something similar will be possible in the new set-up.

I agree with the chorus. I have enjoyed the blog. Sometimes it has been entertaining, sometimes it has frustrated me – but overall it has been fun to read. Never boring!

I’m just going to echo every comment above. I really enjoy the blog and always look forward to the next one.
You get my vote for it to stay!

Your blog is distinctive, intelligent and enjoyable. Congratulations, and thankyou! Hope there will be some opportunities in the new arrangements to challenge our thinking in this way. It works!
